What eats the smell

Every yard spray belongs to one of two schools. The first school negotiates: it lays a stronger, nicer smell over the bad one and hopes the afternoon stays cool. The second school digests. BioS+ belongs to the second school — it is a blend of viable bacterial cultures whose entire job is to eat what's souring the yard.

The targets are specific: ammonia, uric acid and the organic residue of urine and feces. The cultures break these down and convert them, unglamorously and permanently, into carbon dioxide. Nothing is left to re-evaporate when the sun hits the turf, which is the exact moment perfumed sprays give the game away.

The cultures have one working condition — moisture. They digest while the surface is damp and clock out when it dries. That's why the label tells you to treat in the cooler part of the day and keep the area wet as long as you can: every extra damp minute is an extra minute of digestion.

It's also why the results compound. Each treatment removes a layer of the deposit for good, so the yard doesn't just smell better between applications — the baseline itself keeps dropping until there's nothing left to announce.
